The Dachstein Ice Cave

Walkingtime approx. 75 min.


Take the Dachstein railway across the first stretch of the cable car route as far as the Schönbergalm.

From there, you can delight in the view over the historical Hallstatt and Lake Hallstatt, which is bordered by mountains on all sides.

A ten-minute walk brings you to the entrance to the Dachstein ice cave, where the guided tour commences (takes approximately one hour). Admire the marvellously-illuminated ice sculptures and ice domes.

Then take time for a stop-over at the Schönbergalm.
