“GOOD LUCK!” IN HALLSTATT SALZWELTEN!

Following the ascent with the funicular, your journey back into the first century BC commences. Dressed in protective clothing, you now enter the truly unique underground world. Step by step, you draw closer to the secrets of the mountain. Marvel at the achievements of those who dug miles and miles of tunnels by hand - in search for the “white gold”. At the end, take the fast miners’ slides to get to the underground salt lake in all its uniqueness. Unforgettable, the return trip back by mining train to the daylight of the Hallstatt mountain valley.

The unique, exclusive prehistoric expeditions take small groups of visitors right into the heart of the mountain. During the tour, which takes several hours, an expert guides you through the prehistory of the salt mine in Hallstatt. Here, where it all started - you become a researcher. Equipped with protective clothing, helmet and lamp, you uncover the traces and relics left by 7,000 years of salt mining.

If you wish to be part of the expedition team, you should be in good physical shape, and wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing.
