The Dachstein Enthusiast Rucksack

The “Dachstein” natural experience is part of the obligatory programme for
all fans of Alpine hiking pleasure. The diversity of the landscape, the contrasting
appearance, the interplay between demanding stretches and energising
viewing platforms. All of this inevitably enchants hiking fans during
the “Dachstein Mountain Enthusiast Rucksack” tour.
The karstic cliffs and rugged cliff formations pass into charming mountain
pastures with their typical plants - some of which are rare - and peacefully
grazing animals.

On this tour, you hike through the contrasting landscapes
on proven routes. During the breaks, enjoy substantial snacks.

ITINERARY, DAY 1:

Ice Cave and the Krippenstein
You take the cable car to the Schönbergalm, and then take a guided tour
through the largest ice cave in the world. Let the fascination impress you
before taking the cable car to your next destination: the Krippenstein.
Following a gentle ramble to the Pioneers’ Cross (approx. 20 minutes), you
are rewarded with a breath-taking view from the “5fingers” platform
across the entire World Heritage region. You then partake of a substantial
climbers’ snack in the lodge on the Krippenstein.

ITINERARY, DAY 2:

World of Wonders through Karst and Limestone
As the name suggests, the “World of Wonders through Karst and
Limestone” thematic route takes you on an expedition through a strange
landscape. Your first stop is at the Koppenbrüller cave, which you will
explore in the company of a guide for about an hour. The thematic route
then takes you along the Koppenwinkelsee to the “Haus am See”, where
you can enjoy your hiking snack in peace.
