Hiking Holiday P02

ON THE TRAIL OF THE WORLD HERITAGE

SalzbergThe World Heritage region of the Inner Salzkammergut awaits you not only
with breath-taking natural treasures, but also with highlights of a cultural
nature. Why not combine the two? On the “Trail of the World Heritage”, we
take you to the era of the Celts and the Romans, through the Hallstatt
mountain valley, around the Gosausee and to the Krippenstein. Inhale knowledge
and clean air in the World Heritage region, on the alpine pastures and
on the lakes. This tour offers you sufficient freedom to organise your own itinerary
and additional journeys of discovery. We take you to the right stops,
and the most energising spots the region has to offer.

Salt Mine Hallstatt
The “On the Trail of the World Heritage” tour offers you:

• Welcome by your host with an original hiking mug
• Tour information and information about the World Heritage region
• Day trips including snack, Gosaukamm cable car, the salt mine,
Krippenstein cable car ride
• And: information folder and recommended tours
• Memento, inclusive programme for Hiking Friends, etc.
One day will be spent dedicated to the discovery of Celts and Romans at the archaeological sites. Along a path furnished with prehistoric finds, hike as far as the Hallstatt mountain valley to the entrance of the salt mine. First of all, however, enjoy the view from the Rudolfsturm over Hallstatt.

Zwieselam
ITINERARY DAY 1:
Archaeological sites - salt mine -
7,000 years of history between the lake and mountains
Following the ascent with the spectacular Salzberg cable car, your journey
takes you along prehistoric findings via the Hallstatt mountain valley as far as
the entrance to the salt mine. Following a one-hour guided tour in the oldest
salt mine in the world, you hike to the famous burial grounds and to the
Rudolfsturm. From here, enjoy the view of Hallstatt before taking the Salzberg
cable car back down to the valley. After a snack, you have the chance to
explore the unique town of Hallstatt, nestled between lake and mountain.

Dachstein
ITINERARY DAY 2:
Zwieselalm - panoramic view - Gosausee
“Hover” with the Gosaukamm cable car to the Zwieselalm and allow yourself
to be enchanted by the fantastic panorama. The circular hike via the observation
mountain is leisurely, with an extended stop for a rest definitely
recommended during this panorama (via the Dachstein to the Dead
Mountains). After a snack in the Zwieselalm hut, return via the Jägersteig to
the Gosaukamm cable car. Round off the day around the Gosausee on the
“Experience water” thematic tour and at the “energy spots” of the
Gosaulacke.

Heilbronner Cross
ITINERARY, DAY 3:
Dachstein cable car - the Krippenstein
The Dachstein cable car takes you to the Krippenstein mountain station. The
adventure hiking path offers a leisurely hiking path to the Pioneers’ Cross
and to the “5fingers” impressive viewing platform. Once you have arrived
back at base, a hiking snack in the Krippenstein lodge will re-fortify you.
