THE UNSULLIED ALPINE PASTURE

You will be delighted by the Inner Salzkammergut’s lake and mountain
landscape with its rustic alpine pastures.

You don’t have to be the landlord of a lodge to experience this feeling
towards nature. During your stay, the alpine pasture tour gives you the
best of what life on the alpine pastures has to offer. Walk over lush meadows,
inhale the fragrance of the alpine herbs, then partake of a rustic
snack and enjoy the mountain lakes. All this and much more is guaranteed
to recharge your batteries.
The leisurely walks add an element of exercise to your holiday, and relaxation
for the soul. Entertainment is on offer, yet Mother Nature herself is the

ITINERARY, DAY 1:

Leutgebalm - Wildereransitz/Hohe Scheibe
You take the slow train to the Plankensteinalm, “landing” on one of the
region’s most beautiful alpine pastures - the “Leutgebalm”. Fortify yourself
with a hearty alpine snack comprising the freshness of nature: cheese,
bacon, butter, bread, buttermilk and much more. Depending on how you
feel, hike either to the Wildereransitz (20 minutes) or to the Hohe Scheibe
(return: 1.5 hours).

ITINERARY, DAY 2:

Sunrise hike - alpine breakfast
Get up at around 4 a.m., and a hike to the grindstone quarries and to the
idyllic Löckersee soon gets you bright and cheery. Enjoy sunrise at the unique
Hochmoorsee and the idyllic landscape set amongst the dwarf pines.
Back at the grindstone huts, re-fortify yourself with a substantial alpine
breakfast. A guided tour of grindstone quarrying is available for those interested:
the history of grindstone quarrying goes back a long way.

ITINERARY DAY 3:

Zwieselalm - Donnerkogel
Today takes you “hovering” above the Gosausee towards the Dachstein.
The cable car transports you to the Zwieselalm, where you can choose between
a circular hike or a tour of the Donnerkogel summit (return trip: 4
hours). After enjoying the fresh air, stop in the town for a hearty
